To book a course, a 50% deposit or the full course fee (if the course start date is within 4 weeks of the booking date) is required. Please note the deposit or any subsequent training fees paid are not refundable in the event that you decide to cancel the training (see para 3) once the booking has been accepted by your instructor. At this point a binding agreement is made between yourself and the instructor. Payment can be made in cash on the day or by electronic means.
3. Lesson Cancellation / Postponement
When you book training you will receive confirmation from your instructor of the booking, this becomes a contract for services and you are then required to give a minimum of 48 hours notice to the instructor for any lessons cancelled or postponed, failure to do this will result in the right to charge for lost time at the hourly rate. Your instructor reserves the right to postpone lessons if she feels that the weather or road conditions are unsuitable or dangerous. Any lessons postponed will be rescheduled at a mutually agreed time. The instructor cannot be held responsible for any costs incurred as a result of her having to postpone any lessons, for whatever reason. All prices can be seen on the website.
4. Driving under the Influence of drink or drugs
To ensure the safety of you, your instructor and other road users, your instructor reserves the right to cancel any lesson if they suspect you are under the influence of drugs and / or alcohol. If this occurs the full training fee for the period in question will be lost or charged. If you are taking medication that may affect your ability to drive safely, please inform your instructor before taking any lesson. If you are unsure please ask.
5. Comfort and Safety
In the interests of comfort hygiene and safety you are advised to wear clean clothing which does not restrict movement and suitable footwear. Dirty work clothes/overalls etc will not be permitted in the training vehicle. Please note that suitable footwear must be worn. You will not be permitted to drive the training vehicle if you are wearing flip flops.
6. Punctuality
It is in your own interest to arrive on time for your lesson. Your instructor would normally wait for a maximum of 10 minutes before the lesson would be abandoned and the lesson fee lost or charged. A reciprocal waiting time may become necessary if your instructor is delayed due to unforeseen circumstances. Any lesson time lost as a result of this would be made up by the instructor either at the end of the normal lesson time if possible or at a later date.
7. Driving Test Booking
Driving tests can be booked by you or your instructor. If you book your own test you will need to liaise with your instructor to guarantee availability of them and their vehicle.
8. Test Vehicle
The instructor has the right to withhold their vehicle for test if they do not think you are at test standard or in the interests of public safety if in their opinion, your driving is actually or potentially dangerous. The test vehicle will be checked prior to test to ensure it is legal to use. The instructor cannot be held responsible in the event of a mechanical breakdown prior to, or actually on test. All efforts will be made to source a replacement vehicle prior to test in the event of mechanical problems if sufficient time is available. Test day will be charged at the rate of 1.5hrs unless more time is requested by the learner.
9. Test Cancellation
Three clear working days notice of cancellation or postponement is required by the DVSA if you wish to cancel your test. Failure to provide the required notice will result in the loss of your test fee. Your instructor cannot be held responsible for any postponement or cancellation of tests by you or the DVSA.
